Joel Monroe, Quick Crank Developer

Behind the Idea…

Like most people who live in a variable climate, it’s easy to become keenly aware of the effort that goes into manually adjusting anything with a crank. This can be a tiresome effort, especially in hot or rainy and cold weather.

Being a near nightly task, I wanted to develop a system that could easily handle the task of raising and lowering the awnings and shades around my house.

I wanted it to be easy, lightweight, and accommodate hard-to-reach places.

Realizing that most homeowners own some type of drill, that easily became the mechanism for powering what was ultimately to become the Quick Crank control system.

“I wanted to design something that both my mother and kids could use, simple as that. Something easy to assemble, durable, and versatile”, says Joel Monroe, the man behind the Quick Crank idea.

“It also was soon discovered that this tool is a multi-use control system, that can easily adapt to othert types of adjustments”, adds Joel.

Now, that I finally have the kinks worked out and a prototype in place, I’m ready to begin manufacturing and distributing, hopefully making homeowners’ lives quite a bit easier when it comes to adjusting their shades.
